Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
Our client suffers with an eating disorder and has done for most of her life. This has affected the her mobility and as such she has carers who come in and help her with meal prep. She doesn't have a working freezer, which makes it impossible to batch cook her meals. She would really benefit from an under counter type for access and mobility issues.

A needs help to buy clothes as he doesn't have any winter clothes and would be very grateful for your support.

Total needed £120This gentleman, who was recently referred to us, moved into a property with his two children, but they have very limited furniture. Financial struggles are making it difficult for him to provide a comfortable home, and this challenge is taking an emotional toll. After his visit to the St Vincent de Paul centre, we are urgently seeking your help as the family is in need of a wardrobe, dining table and chairs. Any assistance toward this endeavour to create a stable and welcoming home environment would be deeply appreciated.

Total needed £200This woman, who was referred to us by partner agencies, has no recourse to public funds. Her son is sleeping in a travel cot, which a health visitor has deemed unsafe as it no longer suits his needs. Without access to public funds, mum cannot afford a toddler bed, mattress, or enough food. At St Vincent de Paul, we urgently seek your help to provide a bed, mattress and bedding for the child, as well, as well as a food parcel for the family to support them for a month. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Total needed £200This woman and her brother are struggling financially, sometimes going without food. They are unaware of available benefits, and she is suffering from severe depression, with her living conditions exacerbating her mental health. The flat is damp and mouldy. This woman is sleeping on the floor, and the situation is overwhelming, worsening her mental health. At St Vincent de Paul, we urgently seek your help with a single bed and a fridge to ease the pressure, whilst we collaborate other relevant agencies.

Total needed £145This lady, who has been referred to us by the local Housing Authority, is struggling as her housing benefit has been reduced, due to her being overpaid previously, and she also has rent arrears. Mum has four teenage children who are in desperate need of some new clothes. This request is for two of her children and there will be a separate request for the other two. A gift of £200 would be gratefully appreciated, especially as we approach the colder weather. Thank you.

Total needed £200My client, who is receiving counselling and practical support from the Sue Lambert Trust, has physical health needs which prevent her from being able to use a bath. Her shower has broken so she is struggling to find an alternative to keep clean, which she is finding very distressing. We have sourced a tap attached, long cord shower set and some slip mats to keep her safe. This would mean my client retains her independence and her dignity. Any support with this would be gratefully received.
Still £70 left to donate
Total needed £70This is a second request to cover the cost of new clothing for two of this lady's four children. She has fallen into rent arrears, due to her housing benefit being cut, as she was previously overpaid. A gift of £200 would provide warm clothing for them, especially needed now as the weather gets colder. Thank you for your consideration.

Total needed £200L lives alone and has recently moved to the area, away from anyone he knows. He has moved to a council property which was completely unfurnished, and he had very little furniture to bring with him. L has struggled a lot with his mental health and has been getting support for this, but is currently unable to work. He has no sofa or wardrobes and is struggling to settle in and feel at home here, so being able to buy a sofa and start decorating his home would make a world of difference.
