Our client came from Turkey to the UK to be with her husband who subsequently subjected her to domestic abuse. She has no family here to support her so she fled to a refuge. She has now been offered an independent tenancy giving her the chance of a fresh start. The property is unfurnished and she cannot meet the cost of all the items needed. She is in receipt of Universal Credit which barely covers her essential living costs. Could you please help towards the cost of a fridge freezer?

She was homeless for 2 years; 1.5 years she was given a home, but she had to take out a loan for carpets and decorating. She has Universal Credit but the household outgoings exceed her income and we are providing Food Bank support. Her second hand electric cooker is broken, in a dangerous state and needs replacing.
