Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

Due to having dysfunctional uterine bleeding and uterine adenomyosis our client needs to change their mattress regularly due to heavy blood staining. Our client is on Employment Support Allowance and doesn't work, and is finding the cost to replace the mattress a lot on top of the rising costs of every day items. She would be very grateful for any help towards this.

Total needed £175N has been through a very turbulent time with unfortunately suffering an infestation of rats. She and her two children had to move into temporary accommodation whilst the landlord fixed the problem, although N had to contribute to the costs. N has heart failure having had 3 cardiac arrests. She is on Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payments. The rats had got in via a disused drain and have destroyed the daughter's bed, storage, chest of drawers, clothing, everything in that room, where they have chewed through and left excrement and urine everywhere.

Total needed £200L, who works with our debt centre and got into debt in a domestic abusive relationship, is making payments, but her income is very low. She has anxiety and suffers from chronic pain as her spine is disintegrating. L had a shower fitted into her social housing house a few years ago, as she can't get in and out of the bath. As she fitted it herself, there is nobody to help now that it is broken. L is having to clean herself stood up at the sink, and it would take her months to save the money needed to have it replaced.

Total needed £200O is a seven year old child with serious neurological disorders which have given rise to extreme behavioural episodes. The family's lives revolve around his complex needs, and he has responded well to sensory equipment in hospital, where fibre optic curtain lights have had a calming effect on him. Total needed £170My client, who is receiving counselling and practical support from the Sue Lambert Trust, has physical health needs which prevent her from being able to use a bath. Her shower has broken so she is struggling to find an alternative to keep clean, which she is finding very distressing. We have sourced a tap attached, long cord shower set and some slip mats to keep her safe. This would mean my client retains her independence and her dignity. Any support with this would be gratefully received.

Total needed £200A mid forties working adult had a stroke resulting in him being hospitalised for five months, suddenly becoming a full-time wheelchair user and being unable to continue working, so is now unemployed. This dad is also a carer for his young autistic son. His wife, the mother of their son, had to give up her job as a fully trained nurse, due to a cancer diagnosis. A stair lift is essential to access the upstairs bathroom (instead of being humiliated with using a commode), and ease the pressure on his wife who is now his carer.
