Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

Mum is having to sleep on the settee and the children are mostly staying with nearby relatives as they have no mattresses for their beds. Total needed £140My client is a single mum with three children under the age of eight. She was in temporary accommodation for two years, after leaving an abusive partner. In the last few months, mum has been allocated a home which was in a bit of a state. She doesn't have the money to buy a freezer, which would save her money in the long term. Please can you help?

Total needed £175This lady desperately needs to sell her flat to clear substantial debts. She previously worked at Gatwick Airport, but a back fracture followed by a heart attack led to job loss and spiralling debts, in turn leading to anxiety, depression and suicidal ideation. Since working with Christians Against Poverty, this lady has become a regular attender at our mid-week discipleship group and is slowly turning her life around. Money for man with van hire and an Energy Performance Certificate would be very much appreciated.

Total needed £200This Ukrainian family have settled well into UK life, however, they have had trouble with their heating system leading to it being constantly running without producing heat. This has obviously led to a big bill, despite them paying a reasonable amount month by month. Their energy company has bent over backwards to help, but they have still been left with arrears which they are paying off. This money, if raised, will serve to help towards this, decreasing the pressure they are under currently.

Total needed £200H is a single mother who is dedicated to providing the best for her children. However, without a fridge freezer, she's forced to shop daily and cannot store fresh food in bulk, making it difficult to plan balanced meals and manage costs. A fridge freezer would allow her to store foods, saving time and reducing food waste and money. Your donation would make a tremendous difference by easing her daily challenges.

Total needed £200Struggling financially on a deficit budget, with two children who have learning needs, this family is seeking help. The youngest is wetting the bed every night and, although measures are in place, is still causing the bedding to be changed daily. Buying waterproof bedding and a new mattress would help long-term, causing less damage and an ability for everything to be washed or wiped down. These are additional items which remain unaffordable for this family, but would bring a relief of stress.

Total needed £180SW is a twenty four year old asylum seeker who is currently living in a hotel with her younger sister. She has recently started college, but her phone has stopped working, which means she cannot access the college website to stay up to date with college work and communication. Without a working phone, it is difficult for her to stay in contact with her immigration solicitor as well as her support networks during very uncertain and stressful times. This is all affecting her mental health quite a lot.

We are supporting him to find emergency housing, claim Universal Credit and to find work as this is his long term aim.

Total needed £165Our applicant is struggling for money to pay for gas and electric. The family, with three young children will be cut off or put into further debt in two days time. This will be repeated unless mum can put extra onto the account to clear arrears from last month when she was in the same position. Dad cannot work currently, due to poor physical health and mental illness. Mum just needs to clear the small amount of arrears so that she can keep the gas and electric on for the next few months.
