£0 remaining for a water bill
M lives in the local community and has visited one of our advocacy workers asking for support. She is suffering from severe depression, and is a single mum of a thirteen year old boy. M receives Universal Credit and her son acts as her carer. Mum owes money on her Severn Trent water bill, which we would like to help her pay off in order to relieve some of her burdens. Any donations from Acts 435 for this purpose would be greatly appreciated.
The applicant was medically retired from her job as a nurse in 2016. She and her husband then started a café business, which went well to begin with. Unfortunately, she was then diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (joint hypermobility and susceptibility to dislocation). This means she is no longer able to work and her husband has to be her full-time carer. Debt issues resulting from the failure of the business mean the applicant needs to go bankrupt, but the fee for this is £680.
