Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

F, who is single and lives on his own in a council flat, recently lost his job and is living on a very tight budget. He receives Universal Credit, however, this leaves him with only £20 to live on after bills have been paid. F heavily relies on a foodbank to get his groceries, due to how little he has left. His bed has broken and he cannot afford to replace it. Your support with £175 will help him to buy a replacement. Please can you kindly help with this donation?

Total needed £175T has found himself in a distressing situation whereby his mobile phone provider is pursuing him for a £12 debt! He is disabled and suffers with poor mental health, and this debt collection action is causing him considerable distress, as he believed he had paid his previous arrears in full. Citizens Advice is looking into the company's conduct in this matter, however, the debt still needs paying. Would anyone please consider helping this gentleman clear this debt and put his mind at rest? Thank you.
Still £15 left to donate
Total needed £15This father of a young family of five has unfortunately lost his job and is actively seeking work. However, they have no recourse to public funds and the family is in financial crisis. The church is currently supporting them with food parcels, but the family is losing control over its utility bills and rent. I know this request is not going to solve their problems, but your kindness and generosity will help towards supporting this family and their immediate need.

Total needed £150This single mum, who has a new baby, lives with and is the carer for her mum who is disabled. Their house has a small back yard and she tries to dry washing outside when possible, but since the baby arrived, mum has had to use the radiators which is pushing up their gas bill beyond what they can afford. An electric clothes airer would be more economical and would mean they could go back to using the radiators for only a short time each day.

Total needed £100This lady, who is at the end of her tether, works full-time as a nurse for the NHS and has no money for food voucher to be used at our food cooperative (allowing her to buy food at less than half the retail price) and electricity. Her house is freezing cold and she has no stair covering, which is making the house even colder. This lady is a single parent with a son aged twelve. We are reaching out to you for help please.
Still £200 left to donate
Total needed £200P has been rough sleeping for the last ten years, but has recently moved into supported accommodation. He is on very low Universal Credit, due to never having claimed any benefits before. He would love to see his parents this Christmas, as he has not seen them this year, but saving for the trip to Northamptonshire, by train, is a challenge, as he is struggling financially. P is a very polite gentleman and he believes that now he is being supported, he can really see a future for himself.
Still £120 left to donate
Total needed £120C, who has three adult children, has been plunged into debt through ill health, mixed with varying work patterns, which has meant she has had several overpayments of benefits. She has had to repay this on only the most basic income. During this time, C's garden has become a dumping ground for old electrical items and other rubbish. It would remove a little bit of misery if her garden was cleared, whilst Christians Against Poverty helps her deal with the bigger financial pressures.
Still £130 left to donate
Total needed £150CM has been placed in temporary housing for the last nine months after fleeing domestic violence. She has now been offered a flat where she will have her own room, but currently doesn't have a bed so is in need of a double bed and mattress. CM, who has been assisted by Christians Against Poverty for her debt, has no savings and limited disposable income so cannot afford these essential pieces of furniture for the house move.
Still £200 left to donate
Total needed £200D, who has had significant illness and loss over the last few years, lives alone and has been battling cancer. This year she spent six months in hospital and, once home, needed carers and has now been given a bill for this care of nearly £900. D has paid most of this bill, but still owes £180. She has no money to pay the rest, as she has debts for rent, and due to the hospital stay and her benefits stopping, risks losing her home. We are helping D at the foodbank and are seeking to support her back to financial stability.
Still £180 left to donate
Total needed £180S is a single parent with a four year old child whose current washing machine has broken down. She is on Universal Credit, has no savings and has lots of debts. Following advice from Step Change, some of her benefit is taken to repay debts to various agencies. This is, therefore, reducing her available money to purchase a replacement machine. Any contribution to this much needed washer would be gratefully received. Thank you.
Still £175 left to donate
Total needed £175B, a sixty four year old single lady who is living alone, is a new Christians Against Poverty client who is dependent upon benefits because of her age and health issues. She is struggling to make ends meet and when she was referred she had very little food and was nearly out of electric. We have arranged for B to get some food and an electric top-up but it would make a real difference for her if she could have some heating oil, as she has none at the moment and her house is very cold.
