£0 remaining for a bed
G is a father of three children, an eleven year old child and three year old twins. The family was moved to temporary accommodation out of the area, meaning that they were having to travel over thirty miles a day for the school run, and unable to save money as they only receive Universal Credit. They have now been moved back to the area, but have moved from a fully furnished home to a home with nothing. We are requesting support for a bed to support this family in their move.
We have been asked if we can help this lady who was unable to afford to stay in her two bedroom flat and has moved into a studio flat with her frail husband. They have no space to store personal belongings and the temporary solution found has given them a few days to find alternative storage or her belongings will be destroyed. The lady is in her second year as a student, studying theology and religion, and cannot afford the storage costs. This will provide her with time to find a longer solution.
N suffers from various health issues such as COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and depression. His mental health deteriorated severely when he lost his job and had to move out from his flat. N, who has no family or friends around, found himself with nothing and is now living in an unfurnished flat. He started having back problems, due to sleeping on two cushions, and is desperate to get a sofa bed so he can enjoy not only a bed at night time, but also a sofa in the day time.
D, who has mental health issues, and is supported by our church pantry, was a victim of domestic abuse and was in a women's refuge. She in now living in a flat, but has no cooker. D is using a microwave, but would really appreciate a gas cooker. Please can you help her?
