J, who has resided with us at Homes of Hope for eighteen months, has completed his support plan successfully. Coming from addiction and brokenness, J has turned his life around, is now drug free and enjoys being a hands on dad. He had restored his relationship with his ex in order to effectively co parent. he next step is independence, where he can thrive with his son. J has been offered a property to enable him to move forward and continue in his progress and journey of freedom, but he needs help with the rent.
J, who is in a family of three living in private rented and struggling financially, works nights and has to travel an hour to work. He must have clean clothes every single day as he works in a bread factory where personal hygiene is essential. His only source of drying is a Calor gas heater which they use with a maiden and move from room to room. The motor on the drum of the dryer cannot be repaired and has been condemned. The guarantee ran out just before Christmas.
S is a single person living in rented accommodation and currently claiming Universal Credit as his sole income. He needs help with multiple items in the house that he lost due to a break in to his house. S was in a mental health ward over Christmas and the new year, and came back to nothing. He needs help with an air fryer, microwave, cutlery and crockery. Due to his low income, S is unable to afford to replace these himself and has just been living on sandwiches and toast, as he is unable to cook a meal.
L is a single lady who is struggling with mobility issues and uses a recliner arm chair when she is not in bed. The one she has is very worn out and L needs support to replace it. She also mentioned that she needed a lamp to be able to read at night, and a coffee table near her chair where she can put her flask and snacks, to avoid disturbing others for support.
