£170 remaining for a cooker
H is a single mum to two children who is struggling to manage on a very limited income. She has recently been injured in a domestic abuse attack, and has poor mental health. Caring responsibilities have meant that mum has been unable to work and she has fallen into debt. H is working with Christians Against Poverty to deal with her debts, and is making good progress with this. Her gas cooker has been condemned and mum is struggling to prepare meals for her family. £200 would allow her to buy a second-hand cooker.
F is a single mum who was fled a war torn country and been granted refugee status in the UK. She has been living in temporary accommodation and hotels, but has now been granted a home for her and her daughter. F's daughter has chronic asthma and the house has no floor coverings down, which is causing her to have asthma attacks. We have an offer of free carpets that will make all the difference to F and the health of her child, but need your help with the fitting costs. Thanks in advance for reading this.
N, who had a house fire in June, lost everything and, sadly, was uninsured. She has been living in a hotel with her three children and it has been really challenging. Fortunately, she has found a new home with a local social landlord, but it comes without floor coverings. Because of N's low income, she simply can't afford to buy carpets. One of her children is disabled and she is desperate to make the new house into a home. Carpets would be an important part of that. We have an offer of free carpets, but need your help to pay for the fitting.
Y has been living in temporary accommodation with her young son after fleeing domestic violence. She has been offered a property, but is starting from scratch. Her only income is Universal Credit and she has spent what little savings she had on moving into the new home. The property has no carpets down and Y is worried for the health and safety of her son. He has asthma and is a bit of a live wire! Carpets down would make the home warmer and safer. Any help would be gratefully received for the fitting of free of charge carpets.
