C, who has recently fled domestic violence and has been rehoused for her safety, is autistic and struggles with her mental health, meaning she has been out of work for some time. R, who has fled domestic violence, is a single mum of three children and the family are in need of storage as they had to leave everything behind. Mum, who is waiting for her benefits to be processed, is using cardboard boxes and getting depressed as clothes need to be hung up because the boxes keep getting ripped when the children climb on them. A wardrobe and set of drawers is needed for storage of toys and clothes. They have no family to help, as R brought shame on the family when she left her husband.
This client is a victim of serious domestic violence who has fled her home with her four children and is currently housed in private accommodation with no washing machine. Mum is not involved with statutory services, due to her fear of being found and being ostracized by her community. Her only income from basic Universal Credit. A washing machine would greatly support this lady with her circumstances.
