£125 remaining for a freezer
M, who is single, is not fit for work and needs support to live independently. She would like to save money on her food bill by bulk buying more, but currently has to store most of her frozen food in a friend's freezer as she only has a small frozen compartment in her own fridge freezer. However, sometimes there is no space in her friend's freezer. Consequently, M either has to throw food out or buy smaller portions which is more expensive as she is only cooking for herself.
R, a young, single mother with a small baby, is currently relying on basic benefit income through Universal Credit and is experiencing financial hardship. She has recently been housed and, although she has a fridge with a small freezer compartment, this is filled with milk for her young baby and mum has nowhere to store frozen food for herself. R would appreciate help to purchase a small freezer.
C has three children aged eleven years, eight years and eight months. The eleven year old is autistic and awaiting a diagnosis to receive support. Mum has had thyroid cancer and also has anxiety and mental health concerns. She receives Universal Credit which is not sufficient to cover basic costs. They are in one bedroom temporary accommodation, but will be moved to a property which is completely empty. We are seeking support for a bed for the eight year old that will give them a safe and comfortable place to sleep.
TM, who has a mental health disability and is signed off work, has been in touch with the Christians Against Poverty team (CAP), due to escalating debts. CAP will work with him to try to reduce his debts and support him with a personal finance plan to help him. TM, who lives alone in rented accommodation, struggles to afford to travel to a launderette most weeks, and his washing machine has been irreparable for a long time. TM is desperately in need of a replacement and we have sourced one for £199.99. Please can you help?
