£190 remaining for a washing machine
L has been homeless since February, having had to leave his home town after been attacked. He has just signed a tenancy, but only has a chair to his name. L has just started receiving benefits so it will take some time to build finances up and he has a lot of basic household items to buy. L has been travelling two miles to the centre to wash his clothes, but most of the time the washers are full and he can't do his washing. He really needs a washing machine to be able to manage, going forward. Please can we help?
P suffers with mental health problems and is unfit for work. After spending time in supported accommodation, the family has now moved into its own property. Mum is having to sleep on the settee and the children are mostly staying with nearby relatives as they have no mattresses for their beds. P receives Universal Credit, but is struggling to meet her everyday living costs and there is no way she can afford to buy these herself. She would be very grateful for your help.
S came to the UK as a refugee and successfully set up and ran his own business for a time. Sadly, following Covid, the business failed and he also ended up losing his home. He was homeless for two years, mainly sofa surfing, but has now moved into his own flat. S receives Universal Credit but has little to spare to furnish and equip his new home. He would be very grateful for help to buy a sofa as he currently has nothing but the floor to sit on.
C has been living in temporary accommodation, but has just been offered a permanent flat of her own, however, it is unfurnished and she has no furniture or white goods of her own. C receives some benefits, but they only just cover her basic living costs and don't leave her much to save towards all the items she needs. She has been sourcing as much as she can from friends or Freecycle. C's most urgent need is for a bed so that she has somewhere to sleep.
