£0 remaining for a washing machine
A was unsuitably housed, but has just moved into a new property. His new flat is unfurnished, and A is on a very low income so unable to afford to purchase much. A washing machine would mean that he can keep his clothes and bedding clean without costly and time-consuming trips to the launderette. This will also allow him to save more quickly towards other items he needs.
This Zimbabwean single parent recently received refugee status, but due to the housing crisis in Leeds, has been moved to a temporary hotel room with her two school-age children. While they struggle without cooking or laundry facilities and reduced benefits, mum is most concerned that her boys are not able to attend school due to the distance. She asks for £110 to get bus passes for them and for two weeks of her bus pass, in order to support their transport in this transitional period.
A is disabled following a violent assault that has left him with a brain injury. He has been moved to a new ground floor flat, due to the seriousness of his condition. The flat is not carpeted and has concrete floors throughout so it is cold and damp. We would love to be able to make A’s flat more homely and, with your help and the free carpets we have been offered, will be able to do that.
