£200 remaining for a washing machine
This mum of three young boys, aged ten, five and four, needs help to purchase a washing machine as hers is broken and she is unable to buy a new one. Mum uses food banks, as her financial situation has been impacted after surgery has caused her to be accidently injured. Mum has been left with health issues and a stoma bag, and is unable to work, but not receiving all the benefits she feels she can access. Having a working washing machine, with mum's health, and an active family will impact them significantly.
D is a single man who is on benefits, has recently been housed and is struggling to get by. He is being supported by his local food bank, but only has a microwave to cook himself meals with, so is struggling with nutrition and the cost of microwavable meals. D is used to cooking from scratch and would really appreciate any support to enable him to buy a cooker which will improve his budget and his health. Thank you.
This mum of five children, who is suffering from kidney failure and on dialysis, needs a new mattress for her eighteen year old son's double bed. Her partner is unable to work as he cares for her and their three year old. During a year of being homeless, much of their furniture was either stolen or damaged whilst it was in storage. Used beds were found for the children with old mattresses. Their son has type one diabetes, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, anxiety and depression, and is often bedridden on an uncomfortable old mattress.
B is an elderly gentleman with disabilities who has found himself sofa surfing. The local council has just given him a one bedroom flat of his own and he is so happy, however, he has no funds to help start this new life. B is collecting money from friends to arrange a removal company to take his belongings from storage, but there are many items of furniture he does not have, including a bed or a sofa. This £200 will go towards his fresh start. We will order the furniture to be delivered to him.
