O has lived in her home for the last two years with her little girl. The property has no carpets in the bedrooms or hall, stairs and landing. This is unsafe for her small child, as well as making the house feel really damp. O, who isn't working, has no savings or family to support her and simply can't afford the high cost of carpeting her home. Carpets would mean the world to O and her daughter. Mum is having to sleep on the settee and the children are mostly staying with nearby relatives as they have no mattresses for their beds.
