£0 remaining for a living room and bedroom carpet
We got to know D, his wife and their four young children through our Children and Family Centre. They live in a one bedroom flat, but have managed to get a new flat through the council that is larger, though very bare. D has started doing it up, but they have very little money. He is currently studying and his wife works as a carer, so their income is small. They would love to get a carpet for the largest bedroom and living room that will warm the house and make it more comfortable.
Vinyl flooring is required for a household with sight impaired child, as the existing worn flooring is a trip hazard. This child lives with his young adult sibling in a kinship care arrangement. The birth parents couldn’t look after the child due to long term drug addiction, so it is a very traumatic background for this innocent child.
