£0 remaining for a headboard
K is a single mum of two children, one with special needs. She has fled domestic abuse, has had to start again in a new area, has little money and debts from the previous relationship. K claims Universal Credit, but there have been deductions from it. Her son broke the wooden slats in his bed and she was taping it together, it had been second-hand to her in the first place. The Besom charity has donated a new bed, but K needs a headboard to provide safety for her son. Please can we help her?
G, who lives with her husband and looks after her grandson two days and nights per week, has a number of health conditions including spondylosis and arthritis. Her husband has problems with his knees and hands, as well as diabetes. Their grandson has autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and they look after him to help their daughter who also has poor health. G, who receives Pension Credit, is struggling to cook safely. An electric multi-cooker will assist with this, as G will not need to lift it, which she is unable to do at the moment.
J, a mum of three children aged fifteen, ten and four, is also seven months pregnant. The fifteen year old has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism. Mum receives Universal Credit meaning that she has limited funds. The family oven keeps cutting out and is dangerous. We are requesting support for the family to be able to purchase an oven for safety, and nutritious meals.
C is a single mum of a five year old and they have been living with C’s mum for eight months, following a relationship breakdown. Mum has now moved into a council house with no appliances. She has just started a new job, following training, and receives Universal Credit top-up. C's daughter has asthma and chronic constipation. As there are no appliances in the house and she has limited income, we are requesting support for a fridge freezer.
