£0 remaining for a double buggy
This family who have an eighteen month old boy have just welcomed a second son into the family. The toddler has a stroller and the newborn has a pram from a local charity shop, but this will require both parents to push one child each. Mum will not be able to take both boys out together and dad will go back to work in a week. They desperately need a double buggy so that mum can leave the house with both boys. Mum also had to have an emergency Caesarean Section which makes mobility difficult in these early weeks.
Our client, who is in her mid thirties, has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy. She has recently moved from her parents’ home and transitioned to independent living, moving into her own tenancy in a lower-level wheelchair adapted accessible flat. As a wheelchair user, using electric blinds helps her to be more independent. Our client is totally reliant on benefits, including high level disability payment, so would be unable to afford this on her own.
