£0 remaining for carpets
T, who lives with her husband and son, has a terminal illness. Their landlord evicted them to sell the property and they were homeless. They now have a property they can move into, but there are no carpets. T's husband is a taxi driver, but this barely covers his costs and he is working all hours to try and support the family. T just wants to move in, make it a home, and use the time she has left with her family, especially her one year old grandson. Carpets would transform this house into a home.
B is a mum to two small children who is managing on a very low income. She struggles with physical and mental health conditions and is often unable to leave her home. B is engaging with support to overcome these difficulties, but relies on her phone to communicate with the outside world and support network (GP, school, support workers). Her youngest child recently threw her phone down the toilet and it is now barely functioning. Without a working mobile, B and her family are totally isolated.
J is being supported by the early intervention mental health team, due to increased levels of anxiety and paranoia which have also led to a decline in his physical health. He is engaging positively with support and attending wellbeing groups. J used to enjoy cycling before becoming unwell, and his support workers feel this would help his health and wellbeing, as well as helping him get to his groups. However, J no longer has a bike and, due to his low income, can't afford to purchase one.
