Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
S came to the UK as a refugee and successfully set up and ran his own business for a time. Sadly, following Covid, the business failed and he also ended up losing his home. He was homeless for two years, mainly sofa surfing, but has now moved into his own flat. S receives Universal Credit but has little to spare to furnish and equip his new home. He would be very grateful for help to buy a sofa as he currently has nothing but the floor to sit on.

Total needed £140C has been living in temporary accommodation, but has just been offered a permanent flat of her own, however, it is unfurnished and she has no furniture or white goods of her own. C receives some benefits, but they only just cover her basic living costs and don't leave her much to save towards all the items she needs. She has been sourcing as much as she can from friends or Freecycle. C's most urgent need is for a bed so that she has somewhere to sleep.

Mum lives in a ninth floor flat, meaning making trips to the launderette is near impossible. She is resorting to washing the clothes in the bath. H is currently waiting for Universal Credit to change her claim to a single claim, however, at the moment the funds go to her ex-partner, leaving her with only child benefit in her name.

Total needed £140V's husband passed away a few years ago and she struggled to stay in the property. She broke her elbow a year ago and because she couldn't live on her own, stayed with a friend, but now her elbow is healing, she has to move out. V, who now has a flat, has just a television that a friend gave her. She desperately needs a double bed to start her off, as she has three crumbling discs and arthritis, and her elbow is still healing. V only receives disability benefits and has no spare income for the bed. Please could we help her?
