£0 remaining for an electric cooker
S came to the UK as a refugee and successfully set up and ran his own business for a time. Sadly, following Covid, this failed and he also ended up losing his home. He was homeless for two years, mainly sofa surfing, but has now moved into his own flat. S is surviving on Universal Credit and has little to spare to furnish and equip his new home. He would be very grateful for help to buy an electric cooker as he currently has no means of preparing hot food.
V is a Ukrainian refugee and single mum who recently moved into an unfurnished council house. Living on benefits, she cannot afford a washing machine, which is essential for managing her family's laundry. Without it, she cannot manage her housing chores. Your support will provide this vital appliance, helping V save time and money, and enabling her to create a stable and comfortable home for her family in the UK.
M is being supported by the community mental health team. He has become socially isolated due to an increased level of paranoia and anxiety, and seen a drop in his physical health due to having no exercise. M has agreed with his support workers to engage in a supported exercise programme, which they believe will dramatically improve his physical and mental health, but due to his limited access to funds, can't afford to pay for it. Your support would pay for a year of the programme.
L is a single mum with two girls. In the past she has suffered domestic abuse and is struggling to get back on her feet. L has had a part-time job since September, but has not been able to save due to rises in costs. Her tumble dryer has broken and at present L is hanging washing over doors and on radiators, which are on rarely. She does hang washing outside when she can. Last week her girls had to go to school in damp clothing. L would be very grateful if someone could help please.
