Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
A, her mum and teenage sister were trafficked and A was a victim of modern slavery and sexual assault. She is receiving treatment for her trauma. The family are reliant on benefits at the moment and struggling to make ends meet with the high cost of housing. They currently have a very thin and unsuitable double mattress to sleep on and would really benefit from a better one in order to get a good night's sleep. Many thanks for your support.

Total needed £175This single mum attended our foodbank and spoke with our advisor. Mum and her eighteen month old son have just been allocated their first property. Currently managing on benefits, she hopes to soon get a job again. This lady has been very proactive in looking at different ways to afford things, but now she is living alone and is feeling the stress of the financial burden that comes with that. £200 would enable her to choose a sofa and cushions that suit their needs and makes it feel more like home.
Still £200 left to donate
Total needed £200B is a forty eight year old gentleman who has severe mental health difficulties and is dependent on benefits. He has been suffering from a bedbug infestation, which has worsened his mental health state, and which was not resolved after two treatments. A donation would enable B to receive one final treatment from a professional exterminator to resolve the issue.
Still £100 left to donate
Total needed £100L is a single parent with a six year old son who is renting a room with a shared bathroom and kitchen. Mum, who came to the UK to escape sexual violence, and is HIV positive, has no recourse to public funds. The rooms are damp and inadequately heated, which exacerbates her health problems, so having heating that she can control would greatly improve their wellbeing. The only saucepan in the kitchen is small and L would like to be able to bulk cook their meals for the week, as she is keen to improve their diet.
Still £135 left to donate
Total needed £140This single mum and her fifteen year old son have had significant hardship and troubles over the last few years. The son's bed is falling apart and is rotten, and mum can't afford to pay for a new one. He would really benefit from a new bed, as it would enable him to sleep well, which will then help him to concentrate at school.

Total needed £200AK, a survivor of a domestic violence relationship, is a single mother of four children. Last year she lost her job, which supplemented her Universal Credit benefit. AK is now in debt for her energy bills and cannot afford to buy winter clothes. She cannot sleep at night due to anxiety and depression. Please can you help her change her life situation? Thank you.

Total needed £200S moved into a council property on her own in July this year, having previously been homeless. However, when she moved into the property, it was unfurnished and, as S is on a low income and has various health issues, she has had difficulty affording to furnish it. Your support towards a wardrobe would really help her.
Still £150 left to donate
Total needed £150This lady is single with an eleven year old son. They have lived in a one-bedroom property for years, but have now been allocated a two bedroom property. They both have health issues and are both on disability benefits. The property comes with laminate flooring, but mum is worried about it being cold. Her son has also outgrown his bed, which I know is far too small for him. It would be really helpful if she could have your support to buy him a new bed.

Total needed £150I was able to chat with M who is a single mum with two children. She came to the UK to claim asylum and was granted private life in the UK. Mum is unable to work, due to health issues, but she volunteers at a local donation hub which helps others who are in need. M would be very grateful to have a good sized mini oven as she has no cooker in her home. Some utensils and somewhere to stand the mini oven on would be very much appreciated. Thank you for reading this.
