Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

This lady came to us in urgent need of support, struggling with her mental health and had no access to food. At St Vincent de Paul, we have been working closely with this lady to address her most immediate needs, such as providing clothing and food. We now feel she is ready to take the next step in her journey through one-on-one counselling sessions, which will empower her to regain stability and confidence. We graciously request your assistance to help make this possible and any support would be deeply appreciated for six counselling sessions.

Total needed £200T, who has recently moved from shared living arrangements to his own home, is currently waiting for support regarding housing benefits and a reduction in Council Tax. As a Universal Credit recipient, he is unable to afford a fridge freezer, which results in frequent and expensive grocery shopping trips. Could you assist this young man by providing him with the means to keep his food chilled and help him manage his budget more effectively by freezing meals?

Total needed £200M, who used to drink several bottles of alcohol per day, was sofa surfing between mum and dad's homes and also sleeping rough. They have now been to detox and rehabilitation and managed to change their life around. M has been given a one-bedroom flat and, as this is the first time they have had their own home, are finding it quite stressful. M has been given some items towards their new home, but has no white goods at all so would appreciate a cooker.

Total needed £200This single mum attended our foodbank and spoke with our advisor. Mum and her eighteen month old son have just been allocated their first property. Currently managing on benefits, she hopes to soon get a job again. This lady has been very proactive in looking at different ways to afford things, but now she is living alone and is feeling the stress of the financial burden that comes with that. £200 would enable her to choose a sofa and cushions that suit their needs and makes it feel more like home.

Total needed £200This lady has had a really positive year in dealing with problems which have plagued her for years. She finally faced up to her problem debt and as of last month now is free from this and is looking to the future with hope. However, the fallout of the process towards being debt free has left her really short at a difficult time of year with Christmas just round the corner. This money, if raised, will pay for a food shop which will see her through the month of December and into a brighter 2025.
