September Prayer Bulletin

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

Hebrews 11:1-3

After the summer holidays, the weather already seems to have turned autumnal which, for many, will cause anxiety as they begin to think of the colder months and the struggle to stay warm. Please do pray for the many churches and charities who will be supporting individuals in this position, such as those who are opening their doors as a warm space.

This year we're again supporting Warm Welcome Spaces which is a network of churches and community spaces open to those seeking warmth and a break from isolation. They're launching their winter campaign online on 3rd October and you're welcome to join them. You can register to attend on their website

As well as heating and fuel, there are millions who will also continue to struggle to afford other essentials on a daily basis. Please do pray for individuals who are struggling on a low income, or who are facing a crisis. Pray that they will be able to seek the right help, but please also join us in praying for and supporting The Trussell Trust and Joseph Rowntree's Campaign, Guarantee Our Essentials. They're working to petition the government to provide social security that means everyone can be guaranteed the essentials.

Firstly this month we are very thankful to God for:

The response to our School Uniform Appeal which has enabled us to help provide 69 families with essential school uniforms, totalling nearly £11,000.

An article in the Evangelical Alliance Magazine, Idea, which is published this month. The magazine is sent to churches and individual EA supporters. Please pray for a good response from both churches who may want to partner with us, and individuals who want to donate through our website.

Two other articles spotlighting our work with Proximity, who resource urban churches, and 4 in 10, which supports charities who are tackling child poverty in London.

The 439 individuals and families who have been helped in July by Acts 435 Advocates and donors, with £69,140 distributed to those who need it most.

Please join us in praying for:

Our continuing partnership with the Let's End Poverty Campaign, who are continuing to petition for change and are enabling us to add our voice to these conversations. Please pray that this will have a great impact and enable change.

Our friends, Welcome Churches, who have created a resource for churches in the aftermath of the recent riots and protests in towns and cities. This resource seeks to promote peace, healing and reconciliation in communities. You can view the resource here: www.welcomechurches.org/latest-news/findingthepeacelaunch

Our Key Partner Gathering this month. This is an opportunity for our key partners to connect and learn more about how they can engage further with Acts 435. We have also invited some friends from other charities and church networks to learn more about our work. Please pray that we will get many attending and it will give us a good opportunity to connect with our partners and external friends.

As always, thank you for your prayers for these individuals, our Advocates and for Acts 435 as we seek to do more for those in need in the UK.

Best wishes,
Katie
