May Prayer Bulletin
The Lord makes the sun shine in the day and the moon and stars to shine at night. He stirs up the sea so that its waves crash on the shore. The Lord All-Powerful is his name.
Jeremiah 31:35
I hope that you are enjoying some warmer weather, which always seems to make the days feel brighter. As we look forward to the spring weather, and the next month, we have two big events happening for us as a charity, and we would really appreciate your prayer for both of these events.
The first event, Giving Hope Together, is on 16th May at 11am. The event is for our donors, supporters and partner network to hear more about what we do, celebrate our recent milestones and to be encouraged by stories of hope. If you would like to join us, you can register to attend here.
We are also attending the Big Church Festival, in West Sussex, during the second bank holiday weekend. Firstly, we would appreciate prayer for us as a team as we finalise the plans for the event. Please also pray for Rhona, as she attends, alongside Jenny, one of our local Advocates, and Alison who is one of our Trustees. If you're coming to the festival, please do find our stand and say 'hi'.
Firstly this month we are very thankful to God for:
Being able to recently join with Churches Together in England, as a charity in association. We attended their regular meeting last week, and enjoyed meeting with other charities and networks.
Our local Advocates who are continuing to spread the word about our work. We have received 31 new donors in April who heard about us through one of our local churches or charities.
Connections with Ascension Trust, Church Urban Fund, and Caritas Social Action Network (CSAN) who are all keen to look at how they can share us with their wider networks.
A wonderful visit to our partner charity, Inn Churches, in Bradford. We're thankful to once again be inspired by those who are directly connecting with the individuals who have specific needs. You can read about our visit on our website.
The 509 individuals and families who have been helped in April by Acts 435 Advocates and donors with £81,170 distributed to those who need it most.
Please join us in praying for:
Our local partners and their families. We have recently heard of the passing of one of our fantastic local Advocates on the South Coast. Please pray for his family at this time. Please also pray for the health of all of our local Advocates, as we know of some who are recovering from illness, or who are receiving treatment. Please pray for good health, and quick recoveries.
Our Giving Hope Together event on 16th May. Please pray that many supporters and local partners attend, and that they are once again inspired and encouraged to support our work.
The Big Church Festival, which takes place on the second May bank holiday weekend. Please pray for our team attending, especially for the practical details. Please also pray for many to be inspired by our work to either support us individually or partner with us as a church.
Our staff team, and speaker team, as they prepare to attend some of the Christians Against Poverty regional conferences in June.
As always, thank you for your prayers for these individuals, our Advocates and for Acts 435 as we seek to do more for those in need in the UK.
Best wishes,
Katie
