July Prayer Bulletin
Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
Hebrews 12:1-2
Yesterday I was sitting outside watching two of my children in their sports day events, and it reminded me of the bible verses above. Both of them were determined to win, eyes fixed solely on the finish line. How much more important is it to fix our eyes on Jesus, and the prize that he has waiting for us? Do join us in prayer for those individuals who are on their journey of faith, and whose prayer requests are below.
The last few weeks have been busy for us as a staff team, and we're taking a day away today as a team to rest and share some special time together. Please do pray that we receive peace and rest, as well as enjoy spending time together.
Before I share specific prayer points I wanted to share with you this fantastic answer to prayer that we recently received from our local Advocate in Blackburn. She had been requesting help with train tickets to help a family who needed their children to travel a distance to school. The local Advocate said:
"This gift was the second one used to purchase rail tickets to maintain continuity and stability, and keep the children in this family in the school they attended when they had to flee a domestic violence situation. I had requested prayer that their local housing authority would speed up the process of re-housing the family back in an area close to the school. When I met mum to buy the latest rail tickets, she was beaming with the good news that they have been offered a new home back near the school. Thank you so much for your generosity in providing for this family who have struggled for a year in this situation and all praise to God for this answered prayer. Mum cannot fully express her gratitude to those who have provided what she could not."
Firstly this month we are very thankful to God for:
A fantastic time gathering with some of our key Advocates online and in-person. It was a very fruitful time of sharing ideas and stories.
The Christ Central (Newfrontiers) Devoted Conference, and the Compassionate Communities webinar, where we got to share our work with potential partners. Please pray that those who were interested in partnering with us sign-up.
Our partners who have been sharing about our work on social media, and in their churches. All of our new donors last week were prompted to come to our website because of one of our partner churches/charities.
The 559 individuals and families who have been helped in June by Acts 435 Advocates and donors with £79,870 distributed to those who need it most.
Please join us in praying for:
The amount of time that requests are waiting to be met. Today the average number of days for a request to be met is 20, which means that individuals are waiting longer than they have previously to see their need funded. Please do pray for new donors to find out about our work, and for our regular donors to be prompted.
An opportunity to share an update with one of our external partners, The Message Groceries. Please pray that we see more Groceries partner with us to reach those in need in their communities.
Our local partners who are continuing to see the increase in need firsthand. Please pray for wisdom and energy for them in their Acts 435 role, but also in the other roles they are often fulfilling.
As always, thank you for your prayers for these individuals, our Advocates and for Acts 435 as we seek to do more for those in need in the UK.
Best wishes,
Katie
