P has worked as a teacher for twenty years in the state education system. Due to the demands of the job, P is currently suffering from serious mental health issues and is unable to work. His only income is from benefits. While working with our client, we've become aware that he does not have a fridge. This means he cannot keep fresh food and needs to access a foodbank daily to eat. The gift of a fridge would greatly improve our client's ability to focus on his health and improve his quality of life.

I am requesting support for a pensioner with serious health issues who has recently been moved into a permanent home after a period in emergency housing. Unfortunately, his new property is completely unfurnished, and he does not have a cooker, which is essential for preparing hot meals and maintaining his health. Your support would make a significant difference, allowing him to prepare food safely and regain some independence and stability as he settles into his new home.

In 2022, O was in a stable relationship and full-time employment. He suddenly lost his job, his relationship ended and he had to look for alternate accommodation. Having no employment, he struggled to find housing and resorted to staying in hostels when he could afford it and if not then buses or the street. In January 2025 he was given temporary accommodation. He does not have income to support his daughter and pay for essentials. O does not have a sofa and feels it would help him and his daughter to have somewhere to sit.

B is a 42 year old who had multiple medical problems predating a recent surgery for cervical cancer. Since the surgery she has experienced bowel and bladder incontinence, sciatica, depression and anxiety. B has now been diagnosed with abdominal adhesions and a hernia which will need to be removed surgically. She is dependent on benefits. Although B has a washing machine she doesn't have a dryer. A donation to enable her to purchase one would greatly help her with higher than normal laundry needs.
