Help with unexpected expenses

After becoming the legal guardian of her two grandchildren Annette* was in need of financial help.

The children had relocated abroad over four years ago, but their parents became unable to care for them, and both children now have subsequent mental health issues.

Annette was able to apply to receive the children's element of Universal Credit, but had numerous unexpected expenses from taking on this new role. She required help to buy a blazer and sweatshirts for the younger child (the school has helped with other items), and suitable non-uniform clothes for both.

On receiving the funds to buy clothing and school uniform for her grandchildren Annette said:

"Can you please extend my gratitude to the people who have helped me to be able to purchase school clothing, and clothing in general, for my two grandchildren? I am overwhelmed with your generosity, which has come at a time when I am most in need of assistance. Again, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart."

The local Advocate, who helped to post her request, said that "Annette also told me that, whilst friends and family have passed on some useful second-hand items, it meant so much to two teenage girls to be able to help choose some new clothes. As an Advocate I continue to be so grateful that there are people like you out there, so we can continue to offer help to people in real need."

Thanks to Acts 435 donors this local Advocate is able to support individuals, like Annette, who found herself in an unexpected situation, and needed fast, financial help.
