Help with a gas bill to relieve anxiety

Laura* is a single mum to three young children who has fled a domestic violence relationship and is currently feeling very isolated. She also has complex health needs due to the severe abuse she suffered. One of her children has severe autism and requires lots of extra care and support. His needs also mean that there is lots of additional washing and cooking.

Laura unexpectedly received a large energy bill recently, and couldn't afford to pay it on her low means-tested income. She was feeling highly anxious but the local Advocate was able to post a request onto Acts 435, which was met by donors to relieve Laura's anxiety, and she said:

"Thank you so much for your incredible support; it means the world to me during this challenging time in my life. Navigating the responsibilities of being a single mum, while dealing with a difficult situation, has been tough, especially without work. I remember how different life was when I was employed, but circumstances have changed. Finding the right words to express my gratitude is hard, and I aspire to extend the same kindness to someone else in the future!"
