Giving hope through temporary accommodation
Stacey* is a single mum, who is pregnant and seeking support to try and get back on her feet after fleeing domestic abuse. She was sofa surfing with her other two children when she spoke to our local Advocate. The council is actively looking for emergency accommodation for her, but she needed help with temporary accommodation in the meantime. Stacey is suffering financial difficulty, as she has changed her Universal Credit payment to a single person status and is awaiting an outcome.
Acts 435 donors stepped into the gap to help, and Stacey said:
In such a horrible world where I thought everyone was only out for themselves, this lifeline has changed my perspective on life. It has caused me to question why people would want to help a complete stranger and the only answer I could find was they have faith and this is something I want for my family and myself now. I can't thank you enough for all that you have done for me. It's not just about the money, but it is the change in my perspective on life.
