£165 remaining for a washing machine
W has just moved into a property, having been homeless. He is very keen to make it into a home for himself and would benefit from having a washing machine to avoid having to hand wash and use the laundrette. He struggles with a respiratory condition which means he is unable to work. His income is Universal Credit and Limited Work Capability Related Activity. In his current situation he is unable to save for this item himself and would be really grateful for your help. Thank you.
R is a single mum with a small baby, who was made homeless and and has been staying in temporary accommodation. She has now secured a property of her own, but it is unfurnished and she has no possessions or savings. Her income is very low as she is not able to work due to looking after her baby. Your support to buy a washing machine would make a huge difference to her, meaning that she can keep her and her baby's clothes and bedding clean.
O is a refugee who has been granted leave to remain. This means that he had to leave his hostel at short notice, and has secured an unfurnished property of his own. As a refugee, O has very few possessions, and has not been able to earn or receive benefits whilst his claim was assessed. He therefore can't afford to furnish his new home. He has got a bed and cooker through other charities, but hasn't been able to get a washing machine, so is struggling to keep his limited clothes/bedding clean.
C has two small children and is pregnant. Her washer has broken and she is really panicky because she can't get to a laundrette and her washing is building up, with a friend having done a bit of it. C is on basic benefits and hasn't been able to save for a washing machine, especially straight after Christmas. Please could we help her?
