E, who has two children, lives in the North East of England with her partner. Owing to poor health, her partner cannot work and E is currently unemployed so that she can take on the role of carer for her partner and children. Money is really tight, and their washing machine has just broken. E is really worried, as she was hoping to spend the small amount she has saved on gifts for the children at Christmas.
