£120 remaining for a washing machine
This mother had fallen into debt after her relationship broke down and she struggled to afford priority bills and still care for her children. She has recently become debt free, but still lives on a low income and has been managing without a washing machine for two months by sending clothes to family and friends. This mother really needs a machine, and a second-hand refurbished machine has been sourced. Please would you consider contributing to this need?
Mum works part-time and has two children. She just didn't know where to turn to for help when her fridge freezer suddenly stopped working, and one of her colleagues signposted her to us. Mum feels very ashamed to ask for help, as she is working and trying to get by, but I have explained that even people who are working are really struggling. This didn't ease her guilt, but she was overcome with emotion when I explained how Acts 435 works. Mum then told me she lives from pay to pay with no room for error.
Our client, I, is twenty eight years old and a mum to two children. She works part-time around the school hours, as she feels It's important to teach the children a good work ethic, plus working gives her a sense of independence. Universal Credit pays her rent and tops-up her wages, but this still leaves little left for household items. Mum has no wardrobes for the children and really struggles for storage, causing chaos in the bedroom. She has asked for support with a wardrobe and small chest of drawers. Please can you help?
