£0 remaining for a washing machine
R, a single mum with three children, has fled domestic violence and been rehoused. The children wear a particular kind of clothing, due to religious reasons, so clothes need washing regularly. Mum struggles to wash constantly by hand, and needs to wash the bedding which is too heavy for her. They have no family to help them, as they are not on speaking terms, which has made R very isolated and alone. She is waiting for her benefits to be processed, so cannot afford a washing machine.
D is fifty two years of age and suffers agoraphobia which means he cannot leave his home as he fears leaving his safe place. His social worker has referred him to us as now that the she has been in his flat. She was very shocked by the conditions he is living in - he doesn't have a fridge freezer and had sour milk and butter in his cupboard, as he has nowhere else to store it. D cannot afford a fridge freezer out of his benefits and has no family to help him. Please could you be the family he needs?
Our client, K, is fifty four and is a lovely gentleman who has learning difficulties and doesn't really understand managing his money. We are supporting him with budgeting advice and he is really enjoying learning how to save a few a pennies out of his benefits so his money lasts longer. However, he just cannot manage to save up for a fridge freezer after his broke, and is storing milk in the sink filled with cold water, as he thinks this will keep it fresh. K has nobody else to help him. Thank you!
O is a refugee from Syria who is helping in all our various support groups as a translator and in many other ways. Unfortunately, his laptop has broken, which hinders him from doing much of his support work. O would really benefit from having a laptop again, but can’t afford this himself as he is also caring for his wife who is ill. Thank you so much for helping him with this.
