£200 remaining for a medical mattress
This gentleman has a serious health condition which prevents him sleeping except on a medical mattress. The family has contacted the local social care team who only have a limited number of the specific mattresses available and they are all in use. Due to the family's disabilities and subsequent low income they are unable to afford to buy a new mattress themselves and would be grateful of support toward the cost.
Our client has diabetes, heart disease, knee arthritis and osteoarthritis of the hip. They are unable to work because of their conditions and role as a full-time carer for their daughter who has complex needs. This is a low-income household that is trying its upmost to get by. The client's bed is broken and they are sleeping on the floor, which is not conducive to their health needs, causing their mobility to deteriorate.
Due to having dysfunctional uterine bleeding and uterine adenomyosis our client needs to change their mattress regularly due to heavy blood staining. Our client is on Employment Support Allowance and doesn't work, and is finding the cost to replace the mattress a lot on top of the rising costs of every day items. She would be very grateful for any help towards this.
Our clients live in a damp bungalow with mould growing freely in all rooms. Their landlord took over a year to instigate remedial work. This was due to start about a week ago, but the contractor has lost it's qualified staff. Trying to dry clothing on radiators exacerbates the moisture in the air and thus the mould. The radiator in the hall can't be used as it would leak and depressurise the central heating system. A condenser tumble dryer would be a huge blessing to them, but they can't afford to buy one for themselves. Your help would be much appreciated.
