£200 remaining for a washing machine
N is a single parent and due to her caring responsibilities she currently doesn't work. Mum claims Universal Credit, however, due to paying back the advance, she has been unable to afford a washing machine. This unexpected expense is causing stress for the client, as she has no disposable income once her bills are paid. N does not have family support and is currently washing the clothes in the bath. She worries that her children will be bullied as she can't clean their uniforms properly, and this is affecting her mental health.
P suffers with mental health problems and has been unfit for work for over four years. After spending time in supported accommodation, P and her two young children have now moved into their own property. Mum has little to furnish and equip her home, and would be grateful for help to buy a washing machine. She receives Universal Credit, but is struggling to meet her everyday living costs so there is no way she could afford this herself. Your support would be a real blessing for P and her family.
S, who suffers from depression and has recently moved to the area to be nearer family and friends, has a one year old son and is currently pregnant. She receives Universal Credit, but has large debts which are leaving her struggling to cover her general living costs. Unfortunately, her fridge freezer has broken down, making it difficult for her to store fresh and frozen food, and there is no way she can afford to replace it herself. S would be very grateful for your help.
Our client has been living in a house of multiple occupancy for six years. He is unable to work, due to an elbow repair and knee surgery. A planned hernia repair was deferred, due to heart condition. This client socialises little and his main external contact is with his twelve year old son, who lives with ex-wife and visits dad each school holiday. Anything left in the shared kitchen disappears. Dad is currently being helped by a financial advisor at Foodbank. A fridge freezer to replace his small fridge would give him more food space, perhaps encouraging him to mix more, and help his mental health.
