£0 remaining for three chests of drawers and two pairs of curtains
This family have just moved into new accommodation. C is a lone parent who is living with her two young children and receiving Universal Credit and Child Benefit. She had to flee her family home, due to domestic abuse, and moved temporarily into a single room in a hotel, but has now secured permanent accommodation. At this stressful time, C would greatly benefit from some donations towards bedroom furniture, namely three chests of drawers and two pairs of curtains, to help make a home for her children.
This family, a single mum and her four children have been experiencing difficulties. Mum needed help with family routines/managing the home. Her own family have helped her organise the home and found beds for the children. We have been asked by the school pastoral worker to help with bedding inc. pillows, duvets, mattress protectors and sheets for three single beds and a cot bed. As a church we are putting £100 to the need and would be grateful for donation of £150 towards the remaining costs.
W, who has been engaging with our community centre and activities for about a month, has recently been given a one bedroom flat after living within hostels for years. He had absolutely nothing to furnish it with and is only on £279.00 a month of Universal Credit. We have given W a single mattress, and the beautiful souls at our centre have donated kitchen utensils, a microwave and a small sofa. He desperately needs an electric cooker, so it would be a joy if any donations towards one are given by Acts 435.
My Christians Against Poverty client is a busy mum of six children and one grandchild, all living under one roof! Their tumble dryer broke down over Christmas and they cannot afford to buy another as a replacement. We are hoping to bless them with a XL heated airer for the cost of £80. This will make a huge difference to the family!
