Our client (at Faithworks Community Money Advice) is working hard with us. Following his partner's very sudden death, dad had to give up work to care for his two year old. In his grief, he got behind on his car insurance and now it is time to renew, the insurance company are asking for a deposit of £200. Any help towards this would be massively appreciated. Many thanks.
C is a single lady who has had a traumatic life experience, using substances as a coping mechanism. She has been homeless and has recently been rehoused in a house of multiple occupancy, engaging with support services to deal with her trauma. C was recently robbed by so-called "friends" who took her iPhone, which she used for face-timing her son. C, who is unable to work and dependent on benefits, with no savings, is distressed that she can't make contact with her autistic son who lives with her auntie.
N is a teenage mum-to-be with a baby due in October. She was living with her parents but now has a council flat which she has just moved into. Due to her age, N has just only begun to claim basic benefits so has no savings and the father of the baby has absconded. She has only her family's support, but they are struggling financially so cannot help N with getting a washing machine which is an essential for her particularly when the baby arrives as there is no launderette near to her home.
C, a former addict who has been homeless for most of his life, moved into his first home just over twelve months ago. He is working extremely hard to maintain his sobriety and keep his flat. Sadly, he bought a second-hand sofa which was infested with bedbugs. C has bought several products to try to eradicate this problem and it is beginning to affect his mental health. His housing provider and local council have been contacted, but have said it is the tenant's responsibility to pay for pest control.
