£95 remaining for bus travel to English classes
We are supporting X who has fled Sudan and is very keen to improve his English. He has done well to get on a twice weekly course at the local college which is ten miles away. The college will not fund transport, and bus fares are beyond X's very limited means. He can only take the course if he has money for travel. This money will enable us to put the necessary bus tickets onto his app. It would be lovely if X could take the course, which he is very keen to do, in order to increase his confidence and future job prospects
S, an asylum seeker, has energetic kids who attend a school that requires uniforms, but he can't afford the £150 needed for uniforms and shoes. Relying on government support, the weight of their needs presses heavily on him. He feels guilt as he watches his children laugh, knowing he can't provide essentials for school. Each toll of the school bell reminds him of their struggles, and he dreams of a day when he can offer his children the same opportunities as their peers, helping them feel included.
After fleeing Iran, M and his family need support to purchase a washing machine as they settle into a new area with limited finances. The couple have two small children and are eager to establish normalcy in their new home. Any contribution would positively impact their lives, providing an essential household item and fostering hope and belonging in their community. Your generosity can help ease their transition and show them they are not alone. Thank you for considering helping this family in need.
This family of five refugees from Syria is settled locally, but is in need of a tablet to help the children with school work and the parents with their English practice. The school is unable to provide any technical support, and family finances do not run to this purchase. A tablet will help to boost the parents' confidence in speaking English and better enable them to support the children with their school work.
