£200 remaining for a second-hand cooker and fridge
S is an asylum seeker who has been given leave to stay, He has moved out of a house of multiple occupancy and temporary accommodation, where he was staying after a period of homelessness. He has found a job and a flat, but it is completely bare with no carpets or furnishings. Giving S a cooker and fridge will help him to start having hot meals with fresh food, which will help him work and study, and recover from the health problems he has been facing. Our church will meet any excess over £200.
S is a single mum of two children who has come into the UK on a shortage of worker's visa, but has not had any work recently as the agency that brought her doesn't have work for her. She is on no recourse to public funds and struggling to make ends meet. S has got a house for her and the children, but is struggling to furnish it. She is in need of a sofa, a bed and three chairs for all of them to sit on while eating. S will be grateful for any support provided.
