£200 remaining for a top-up of gas and electric
Can you please help my client, X, to top-up her gas and electric? She is really struggling financially and is suffering from fuel poverty. X has had her Universal Credit payments stopped. She was working full time, but due to her having a heart condition, has had to reduce her hours and now can only work part-time. Winter is coming and her home is cold. X suffers from Raynaud's syndrome, which is made worse by the cold, and she can't afford to cook hot meals for herself.
E, a recovering heroin addict who has managed to get her son back, has found a Housing Association flat after a period of homelessness. Her only income is Universal Credit and she has no savings. The new flat has no carpets and E is having issues with poor soundproofing and a neighbour harassing her. Carpeting the flat will make a huge difference to E and we have an offer of free carpets! We just need kind Acts donors to help us with the cost of fitting.
L, who is twenty one years old, has just moved into her first property. She claims Universal Credits, has no savings and has been struggling to afford the main essentials for her house. L has been sleeping on the floor, as she has no bed, even though there is no flooring throughout the house. We have been able to provide a new bed and washing machine, and are hoping, with the help of Acts 435, to be able to help carpet her house. Please can you help with the fitting costs?
We are working closely with a local primary school to support a mum of small children who has been relocated to Bradford from London and has no local family support. Financially, they are struggling and her tenancy agreement does not include an oven, so this is her responsibility, but without the means to find one. Mum opened up about this need at a parent café the school runs to support families.
