£150 remaining for an oven
This supported person sadly lost their daughter to suicide in their home. Due to the trauma caused by this, they had to move house and find new accommodation very quickly. Unfortunately, this person is quite physically unwell and is unable to work, meaning funds are extremely tight. The oven in the new home has broken and they are unable to purchase a new one. Hot, cooked food will contribute to better physical and mental health, which is something they are really struggling with.
L, who has recently moved to her first tenancy with a local housing association, has sofa surfed for twelve months, due to her relationship with her parents breaking down when L found out her mother had taken out debts in her name, which she is having to pay off. More recently, L was a victim of domestic abuse from her dad which has massively effected her mental health. She has managed to hold down her job, has saved some money to buy items for her flat and has obtained some free items from Gumtree. L requires a washing machine to be able help her set up home and become self sufficient, instead of taking clothes to friends to have them washed, which she has done since leaving the family home.
This gentleman, who found himself in emergency accommodation, is working with an agency and has managed to secure new permanent accommodation. He is struggling to set up his new home on a low income and needs help to get an undercounter fridge and undercounter freezer. Having these items will allow him to have his children to stay.
Please can you help this young man, who has been homeless and is now in rented accommodation supported by the Humankind charity. His only income is Universal Credit. He has managed to get most household essentials but still needs a cooker. He is keen on cooking and using fresh food rather than tinned and instant foods. He is really making an effort to get his life back on track and having a cooker would be a great further encouragement. Thank you.
