£0 remaining for a baby cot and electric clothes dryer
This Nigerian family who moved here last year and mum had a baby in May 2024, their third child. The husband lost his job and wasn't entitled to any redundancy pay, and the wife has had to go back to work early from her maternity time. She is a carer and on a really low wage. The husband has been trying very hard to get a new job and so far has been unsuccessful. We are helping them with food, but they desperately need a cot for the baby and some way to dry clothes economically.
K, who is thirty and has two children, became unwell with her mental health earlier this year and was admitted into hospital for four months. The children had to go and live with their grandmother. K has worked really hard to get well and has been working well with social workers to get the children back with her. She has been gifted some of the items that have been needed in her home, but K is desperate to replace her broken fridge freezer and cannot afford this out of her benefits. Thank you.
D`s twelve year old son has complex needs, including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism. He gets very frustrated and damages household items and, therefore, mum is constantly having to replace items, but out of her benefits it is impossible to buy a new bed and bedding for him. Currently D is at breaking point as she receives no support for him, although they are waiting for an appointment to have his medication changed and she is hoping this will help. At the moment her her son is sleeping on the sofa. Please could you help them?
A, who is fifty eight and is originally from Tripoli, moved here twenty five years ago and has always worked until arthritis caused degeneration in his shoulder, leading to severe pain. He has taken different courses to retrain, but hasn't managed to find a job as yet. A receives Universal Credit, but does not have a lot left once he has paid his rent and bills. He attended his appointment with us and we noticed his clothes and shoes had holes in them. A needs our help over the winter months to keep warm.
