£200 remaining for a fridge and bedding
A is 19 and has severe mental ill health. She was made homeless following her mum leaving her to live in another area, but is now being supported by a clinical psychiatrist and has been supported into sheltered housing. We are supporting with benefits and food support, and have just supported with a Personal Independence Payment claim. A needs items for her new housing and would be very grateful of any donations allowing her to have a fridge and some bedding, so that she can store food and begin to live a more healthy lifestyle.
A gentleman we are working with lost his ID through long term homelessness. He is now in temporary housing and starting to build his life again. In order to be able to return to work he needs to travel to the consulate and replace his passport. This request is to help pay for the cost of the passport and travel and accommodation overnight as the consulate is in London.
M is a young asylum seeker from Sudan. Recently his smart phone has broken, meaning that he is struggling to handle the administrative tasks that are required for living in the UK himself. He is struggling to book and keep appointments and to communicate with support organisations. If he were able to buy a new basic smart phone, he will be delighted, as this will make living in the UK far more straight forward.
L's had a very tough time and has had to move from place to place following work. Her work is seasonal and at the moment she's unemployed and relying solely on a very low amount of benefits. This month she accidentally missed an appointment and over £200 was taken from her benefits- after her rent and bills have been paid she now has £20 to last her for the whole month. She is feeling desperate and can't see how she will cope - supermarket vouchers would be a lifeline so she can get through the month.
