S, who has very little benefit income and is living off £160 per month, due to current sanctions, struggles with psychosis and severe anxiety. He has been managing with a kettle and microwave for the last five years, but he has been advised to try to eat a healthier diet to improve his mental health. K, who has been living in temporary accommodation, has just been offered a housing association flat of her own, but it is unfurnished and she has no furniture of her own. K has a low income and can't afford to purchase much herself. M is a single parent to a teenager, who is starting university. M has been without a fridge freezer over summer and due to the change of circumstances her Universal Credit will decrease. After the deduction of rent and rent arears, M will be left with just enough to cover her bills. We have supported her with emergency fuel vouchers and food parcels, however without a fridge freezer the foodbank was unable to supply her with any fresh or frozen foods.
