R is an asylum seeker from Iran who is still waiting for a decision on his asylum claim. He has been very involved with the English classes and art projects run by our organisation, including volunteer work. R's only income is the weekly allowance of £49.18 provided to asylum seekers to cover basic needs such as food and clothing. His current smart phone has broken and he urgently needs a replacement to be able to carry out administrative tasks and continue to engage with support services in the UK.
