£0 remaining for a cooker
JS is a single mother to three young boys, all aged under five, whose relationship with her husband broke down recently. She is is in need of a cooker and is currently managing with microwaved meals, but is concerned that the children are not getting a healthy diet. JS's only income is from benefits.
This family are currently living with poor home conditions in an overcrowded house. Mum has poor mobility and ongoing health conditions, and is sleeping on a sofa, making her issues worse. She is in the process of acquiring a new property with an extra bedroom to alleviate the situation. Mum, who is struggling financially, would really appreciate a new double mattress to help alleviate her back pain and health conditions. This would enable her to have better rest and improve her health. Thank you.
B is 54 and has recently moved to an unfurnished flat with no furniture or cooking facilities whatsoever. He has been living with depression for many years and also has arthritis. Living in these conditions is not helping his depression. B has made great progress since he has been going to our Wellbeing centre and has been helping with the bike library, assisting with fixing bikes. He is living on benefits and has no other income and cannot afford to buy a cooker, please can you help him?
D is a single person living in rented accommodation, currently claiming Universal Credit as his sole income. He was was recently evicted from his property illegally and lost his job due to stress. All his possession in the property were removed without his permission; he is speaking to a solicitor about this but it is going to be slow. He has moved into another property but he has nothing, and he only has 2 sets of clothes and no way to wash them. A washing machine would really help him as he seeks to get a job again.
