This family are asylum seekers from Afghanistan who arrived in Newcastle yesterday. They have some limited furniture and beds, but no toaster and, crucially, no television for the children to watch. Their carpets are very dirty and the little girl has already got a nasty rash which they feel is due to the dirty carpets. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Mum is a single mum to three children aged 8, 7 and 2. Since needing to separate from her partner she has not been able to work due to childcare costs and has no family to support her. She has a very limited income. She requires a new stroller for her 2 year old as she outgrew her previous one and the hope with the new one is that it will be long lasting. The family don't have a car and live a long walk away from their closest bus stop so this will enable to family to get easier access to the bus.
