£0 remaining for a washing machine
L is a parent to two girls, aged two and six years old. They live in a council flat where their washing machine recently broke down and they do not have enough money to replace it. Their main income of Universal Credit and Child Benefit, is taken up with the day-to-day cost of living and does not leave enough for such an expense. The machine cannot be repaired at a reasonable cost. Neighbours have kindly been helping with laundry, but this can’t go on for much longer. A replacement washing machine would be a huge help.
