£0 remaining for carpet fitting
S, who has lived in a refuge for the last six months, after fleeing domestic violence, has three children and her only income is Universal Credit. She left her previous property with nothing so is having to start again. S has now ben rehoused and used what little money she had to buy basic essentials for her new home. The new house has no carpets down at all. We have an offer of free carpets, but need help with the cost of fitting them. It would be amazing if someone could offer support.
J has just moved into a long-term property after living in temporary accommodation, having fled domestic violence. She has spent all her savings on furniture, beds, white goods and household items, and her income is very low as she only works part-time. J's new council property is not carpeted and she's worried about heating bills etc. now the weather is changing. We have an offer of free carpeting, but we need help with cost of fitting them. C, a single parent to a two year old daughter, has been living at home with her mum, but the relationship has broken down. She had been living in temporary accommodation, but has luckily found her own home. C's only income is Universal Credit with no savings and, unfortunately, the new house has no carpets down. Mum is worried about her little girl and we're hoping that a kind Acts 435 donor will help with the cost of carpet fitting. C would be really grateful for any help.
R has suffered a fire at his home and the downstairs of his property has been badly damaged by smoke. He isn't currently working, although he is actively looking, and his only income is Universal Credit. Unfortunately, the property wasn't insured and R has no savings. He's tried his best to renovate and repair the damage, but doesn't have any funds for flooring. We have an offer of free carpets, but need help with the fitting cost, so any help given would be gratefully received.
